HARLEM VALLEY REGION ~ TRAVEL INFO
BY AIR

You will come in to JFK, LGA (Laguardia) or EWR (Newark).  You need to get from there to Grand Central Terminal in NYC.

There are shuttle bus services or shared taxi vans.  The only one I can personally vouch for is Airlink...have used it many times and liked it.  The only difficulty is that you have to wait in the airport for an unspecified time for it to make the loop.  I imagine such is the case with the buses as well, and the for taxi you must stand in line.  If you use the Uber app you could try that although at times depending on how the peak works it can be quite expensive.

BY BUS

Service from each area is different.  I have had good experience with Vamoos bus which goes from Lorton, VA, Arlington, VA and Bethesda, MD to NYC.  I also had a good experience with Megabus although I only took one trip on it so it would be best to check reviews.  Most US cities have Greyhound service to NYC.  Greyhound lets out at Port Authority Terminal; for other services you should check.   Once you know their pickup and drop off points you can go to Google maps and find the subway route by asking for directions on public transportation to Grand Central Terminal.

BY TRAIN

If you are taking Amtrak INTO NYC, you will arrive at Penn Station.  From there you need to take the REDLINE 1, 2 or 3 subway to Times Square / 42nd Street and then the S SHUTTLE crosstown to Grand Central / 42nd Street.

FROM NYC TO DOVER you need to take the Metro North Harlem Line to Harlem Valley / Wingdale (listed as HM VALLEY-WINGDALE).  On the schedule board the train will be listed as Wassaic, which is the last stop.  You will change trains at Southeast, by just crossing the platform.  Southeast is the last stop and the conductor will announce the train change.  There are ample self service ticket kiosks in Grand Central to purchase your ticket as well as ticket windows, but as always leave yourself a cushion of time to navigate.
If you will be attending the Sunday Morning events at the Dover Stone Church you would depart from the Dover Plains station, which is a short walk (about 3/10 mile) from the Stone Church and Tabor-Wing House.

RIDES for train travelers

As much as possible we are attempting to provide rides for those who arrive by train from the station to Ramah and/or Boyce Park on Friday from 11:30 am to 4:00 pm.

Check in at Ramah does not begin until 3:00 pm, so if you arrive on an earlier train you can join the prep crowd at Boyce.  If you are camping you will want to go to Boyce, and we will be there from 10:00 am on.
